The organisers nominate charities along our route, so there are two amazing charities working in India and Nepal respectively who we want to support. In addition, we want to raise more funds for our local Butterwick Hospice for the great work they do. Please give generously - remember, we pay our own costs so anything you give goes entirely to the charities.

Frank Water Projects fund global clean water projects using filter technology to help those below the poverty line have access to safe drinking water. 2.2 Million people still die every year from drinking dirty water. FRANK Water Projects funds facilities that use the the world's most effective water filtering process. The facilities are community owned and run, with an emphasis on the project being sustainable well into the future.Each project costs around £7,000 and provides clean, safe drinking water for up to 7,000 people in the village and surrounding communities.That means that for every pound donated, clean, healthy drinking water is provided for one person, for life.
Maiti Nepal offers help, support, protection and rehabilitation to Nepali girls and women who are victims, or have been victims in the past of crimes such as domestic violence, trafficking for flesh trade, child prostitution, child labour, and various forms of exploitation and torture.
Butterwick Hospice Care helps up to 200 patients and their families each day. Now expanded into a purpose built hospice in Stockton on Tees and another Hospice in Bishop Auckland from where the organisation provides services throughout the North Tees and Durham Dales PCT areas.October 1998 saw the opening of Butterwick House Children's Hospice which provides care and support to families across the North East.
